Pakistan has condemned the deadly attack. "No cause justifies such acts of terrorism and taking of innocent lives," its foreign ministry said in a statement.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sunday's attack is one of the deadliest so far this year, a time when attacks are escalating following a controversy-marred election and the inauguration of President Ashraf Ghani in September.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Afghanistan's parliament approved agreements on Sunday with the US and NATO allowing international troops to remain in the country past the end of this year.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to the deals, about 12,000 international troops will remain in Afghanistan next year to train and support Afghanistan's security forces.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ghani's first act after becoming president was to sign the agreements, which are opposed by the Taliban and other armed groups.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
US President Barack Obama wants all American troops to be out of Afghanistan by the end of 2016, as his presidency draws to an end.</div>

Normal life was partially hit on Friday in parts of Nepal as several opposition parties enforced a shutdown against the reported cancellation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed trip to the religious town of Janakpur.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Modi was scheduled to visit Janakpur, said to be the birthplace of Sita, Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and another sacred Hindu pilgrimage site, Muktinath, located in the southern mountainous region during his visit to Nepal to attend the 18th SAARC summit here on November 26-27.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Janakpur, Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlani districts were among the affected areas due to the shutdown. Educational institutions and markets were partially closed and transport services also came to a halt. There were also anti-government rallies in parts of the city. "The people of Janakpur have shown spontaneous protest as the news of cancellation of Modi's visit to Janakpur and Lumbini, the important religious sites situated in southern Nepal, was spread," said prominent Madhesi leader Rajendra Mahato, President of Sadbhawana Party.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We want Modi to visit Janakpur and his felicitation should be held in public at Barhabigha ground, not behind closed doors, as proposed by the ruling parties, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML," said Mahato talking to PTI. The government was trying to dissociate Modi from the general public on the pretext of providing security to him, which is absurd, he said. The people of Janakpur want to see Modi take part in the public felicitation function and address a mass gathering at Barha Bigha, said Mahato.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The agitators also burnt effigies of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam, who had said recently that Modi would not address public gatherings during the proposed felicitation programme. Mahato alleged that efforts are on to create distance between Modi and the Madhesi people living in the southern plains of Nepal. Earlier on Friday, the Nepal government said that Modi's visit to Janakpur had not yet been officially cancelled despite reports about it being called off. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae also told reporters this morning that the Indian Embassy here did not receive any official communication about the cancellation of Modi's visit to the pilgrimage sites, including Janakpur.</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">P</span>rime Minister Narendra Modi made a rocking entry on the Forbes List of World’s Powerful People. Of the 72 names on the list, Modi made his debut on the 15th position. Forbes is a business magazine owned by Forbes Inc., USA. The magazine not only publishes articles on finance and marketing, but also doles out several lists, one such being the one we’re enlisting. On the top of the list, Russia President Vladimir Putin wins the Clash of the Titans, as his counterpart, US President Barack Obama stands at No. 2. The third place is occupied by China President Xi Jinping.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Narendra Modi, who wasn’t part of the Forbes list until 2014, made a stupendous debut securing the 15th position, well ahead of some of his contemporaries. On Narendra Modi, Forbes says, “India’s newest rock star doesn’t hail from Bollywood. He is the newly elected prime minister who sailed into office in May with a landslide victory, ushering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) into power after decades of control by the Gandhi dynasty.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, the Forbes magazine doesn’t shy away from adding, “A Hindu nationalist allegedly responsible for encouraging and allowing communal violence and sectarianism in the Gujarat riots in 2002 and on a U.S. no-entry list since 2005 to 2014, Modi is credited with massive reconstruction projects in his home state of Gujarat.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Forbes list of 72 powerful people also featured business tycoon Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries) on 36th position, whereas as Iron Baron Lakshmi Mittal (Arcelor Mittal Industries) grabbed the 57th spot. Other known faces to feature on the list are former World’s richest man Bill Gates at 7th position and American business grandee Warren Buffet at 12th position.</div>

"The Nobel Committee regards it as an important point for a Hindu and a Muslim, an Indian and a Pakistani, to join in a common struggle for education and against extremism," said Thorbjoern Jagland, the head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.</div>

Yousafzai was attacked in 2012 on a school bus in the Swat Valley in northwest Pakistan by masked gunmen as a punishment for a blog that she started writing for the BBC's Urdu service as an 11-year-old to campaign against the Taliban's efforts to deny women an education.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unable to return to Pakistan after her recovery, Yousafzai moved to Britain, setting up the Malala Fund and supporting local education advocacy groups with a focus on Pakistan, Nigeria, Jordan, Syria and Kenya.</div>

Satyarthi, who gave up a career as an electrical engineer in 1980 to campaign against child labour, has headed various forms of peaceful protests and demonstrations, focusing on the exploitation of children for financial gain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It's an honour to all those children still suffering in slavery, bonded labour and trafficking," Satyarthi told CNN-IBN after learning he won the prize.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In a recent editorial, Satyarthi said that data from non-government organizations indicated that child labourers could number 60 million in India or 6 percent of the total population.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Children are employed not just because of parental poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, failure of development and education programmes, but quite essentially due to the fact that employers benefit immensely from child labour as children come across as the cheapest option, sometimes working even for free," he wrote.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Children are employed illegally and companies use the financial gain to bribe officials, creating a vicious cycle, he argued.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yousafzai last year addressed the U.N. Youth Assembly in an event Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called "Malala Day". This year she travelled to Nigeria to demand the release of 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the Islamist group Boko Haram.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"To the girls of Nigeria and across Africa, and all over the world, I want to say: don't let anyone tell you that you are weaker than or less than anything," she said in a speech.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"You are not less than a boy," Yousafzai said. "You are not less than a child from a richer or more powerful country. You are the future of your country. You are going to build it strong. It is you who can lead the charge."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The prize, worth about $1.1 million, will be presented in Oslo on Dec. 10, the anniversary of the death of Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel, who founded the award in his 1895 will.</div>
